Boston Bound
This morning we headed into Boston in search of adventures...
Our first was full of bargins...
fruits & veggies at the Haymarket Farmers stands...
so much produce in such a small place!
Next we started rounding up some of the 100+ cows in Boston...here's "Cow Paths" at Fanueil Hall...
Cow Map
and "Go Organic"...
this strange looking guy is "Anatomy of a Bionic Bovine" (Based on veterinarian anatomy charts)
"Flower Cow" sure was pretty...
she was near "Main Streets and Back Roads of Moo England"
and poker themed "Moovin All In"
but not much can top this over the top "Rhinestone Cowboy"
We saw "Wally the Green MOOnster" but because of street preformers there were too many people all over him to take a picture...
There were 5 more hiding around there but we headed over to the aquarium...
New England Aquarium
While Daddy bought our tickets, Momma & I joined the crowd watching the harbor seals...
it was neat watching them swim by...
doing tricks...
then we went in to see the penguins...
they're silly to watch too...
but my favorite is the big tank with turtles, fish, rays and more...
there are some big fish
and colorful ones...
It was too crowded to go all the way up above the tank, but we did get a birds eye view over the penguins...
and we saw other things on our way back down...
At the Ege Of The Sea tidepool...
I did touch a starfish
and in Curious Georges Discover Corner I saw a blue lobster!
Of course we checked out the gift shop before heading out...
so many toys...
so many penguins!
Outside we saw "Coral"
and "Pinky Bank" along the waterfront
and "The Freedom Trail, Holstein Style" at the base of Christopher Columbus Park...
there we met "The Life Bovine"...
"Magical Moon"
"Moovin Veggie Burger"
"Sunflower Cow"
and "The Cow Of Many Colors"
I liked her so much
I gave her a kiss!
Through the North End we went, to the 96th annual Fisherman's Feast!
"The Fisherman's Feast is an annual event that began in Boston in 1911 based on the devotion of the fishermen from Sciacca to the Madonna del Soccorso (Our Lady of Help). Today's Feast is much the same as it was 90 years ago with lights adorning the street and the smell of sausage in the air. Each August since 1911, the Feast has been held in Boston's historic North End on North and Fleet Streets, making it the North End's oldest continuously running Italian festival. Each night and during weekend days there is entertainment on the bandstand and vendors selling food (Italian sausages, calamari, pizza, pasta and much more) as well as crafts."
We saw people dancing, of all things, the chicken dance...
There was a lot to see...
and eat...
we tried a rice ball and a calzone...
before I fell asleep...
so back to the car and home we went...
