Storyland!
We got our things together bright & early
to drive on down to Storyland!
We started out in Little Dreamers with a visit to the Old Lady In The Shoe,
popped out of a pie with the blackbirds,
sat on a tuffet with the spider,
buckled shoes, sat in peas & slid down a slide!
We even found a sandbox with trucks
and Peter Pumpkineater's house!
Eventually we wandered down to see the Storybook animals and headed South of the Border
before hopping aboard the Huff, Puff & Whistle Railroad
for a tour of the park.
From there we saw the Eggs-traordinary Farm Tractors and decided they looked like fun
so much so that we waited in line to ride several times!
It was so hot for September so we were glad to cool off in the misting tents
then decided to seek some a/c by going to The Loopy Lab to watch the rocket launch.
We enjoyed helping the assistants, especially when the corn popped!
After a stop for lunch, we headed up to Cinderella's Castle then the swan boats,
before playing on the pirate playground
and boarding The Buccaneer Pirate Ship.
The 90 plus degree heat demanded an ice cream break
before riding around the park again
looking for short ride lines & interesting things.
The Cuckoo Clockenspiel looked interesting so we gave it a spin,
and spin we did!
We had so much fun that we didn't want to leave,
but reluctantly we did, passing a covered bridge in Jackson,
enjoying the mountain views of the forest
through the state park
as we headed back to Gorham.
There we stopped at the playground
to slide,
swing,
and dig before heading back to the pool, dinner & eventually bed!
